Ashton Kutcher believes his new movie “To You or To Me?” starring Reese Witherspoon perfectly describes his relationship with Mila Kunis.
In the movie, Reese and Ashton play Debbie and Peter, two polar opposites best friends. He is an accountant, his son lives in Los Angeles and is a marketer and aspiring writer based in New York. When the two decide to change their homes and schedules for the week, they realize (obviously) that what’s missing in their lives might just be each other.

“So, this is all like my life. Someone you’ve been friends with for years, you’re not in a romantic relationship, you’re just friends, and then all of a sudden the key flips and you’re suddenly married and living together,” Kutcher told Extra.
If you don’t know how her and Mila’s story began, they played friends Kelso and Jackie in love on That ’70s Show, which ran from 1998 to 2006. They were friends at the time but started dating in 2012, got married in 2015 and now have two children: 8-year-old daughter Wyatt and 6-year-old son Dimitri.

When Kutcher was asked if there was such a friendship between Debbie and Peter (the “You or Me?” characters), she replied, “Yes, I’ve clearly had such a relationship in my life.” Witherspoon joked: “He’s with Mila. This is the full story of their lives, but then I was chosen for the role of Mila.
However, Ashton added, “The main difference is that there was an instant romantic spark between our characters in the movie and mine didn’t.”

Even if they haven’t developed a romantic relationship, the actress believes that platonic friendship between the sexes is important: “I firmly believe that there are extraordinary platonic relationships between men and women, these are beautiful, wonderful, extraordinary friendships. And I think if you’re a man who doesn’t have a woman to befriend, then life is a thing. You’re missing the part.
