Amazon’s Kelly Day restructures Prime Video International

Prime Video is restructuring its international business along regional lines in EMEA, APAC and the Americas.

Amazon Prime Video Vice President Kelly Day adjusted The Bosch And The small team Streamer with expanded roles for Barry Furlong and Gaurav Gandhi.

Furlong, currently Vice President of Prime Video Europe, will expand his role to include all operations in Africa and the Middle East and oversee EMEA.

Gandhi takes on a new role as head of the APAC region, adding Japan and Southeast Asia to his current role as overseer for India. Sushant Sreeram, Director – SVOD Business, becomes Prime Video Country Director for India, replacing Gandhi.

Kari Roe will continue to be responsible for the Americas (Brazil, Mexico, Latin America and Canada), Australia and New Zealand.

Josh McIvor, Director of International Expansion, who oversaw Prime Video’s expansion in Africa and Southeast Asia, will continue to “own priority international Prime Video initiatives outside of regional jurisdictions.”

The changes will take effect in early April.

In a memo to employees, Day said: “This new organizational structure is designed to enable us to achieve our ambitious global growth goals while remaining the most local of the global streaming services. It will also provide career development opportunities for Prime Video International team members expand Our plans are designed to create global consistency in how we operate, simplify decision-making across our growing number of priority countries and regions, and enable us to rapidly scale Prime Video globally, while continuing to focus on delivering to local customer focus.

The changes will take effect in early April. They follow a major reorganization of Amazon Studios in the US, with Laura Lancaster and Nick Pepper now overseeing TV programming under Vernon Sanders. Important international managers such as Georgia Brown and Kaspar Plüger have also left in recent months.
