All about the Greek salad series, the new generation Spanish inn

Let’s go for a fourth batch! After The Spanish inn (2002), Russian dolls (2005) and Chinese puzzle (2013), Cédric Klapisch unveils a sequel to his cult trilogy.

A new generation

It is one of French sagas the most cult. Worn by Romain Duris, the trilogy The Spanish inn started 20 years ago, in Barcelona. It followed the adventures of Xavier, a young Erasmus exchange student who lives with other European students.

Director Cédric Klapisch brings back to life his hero who has become a father, but will leave him in the background to focus instead on their children, My (Megan Northam) AND Tom (Alyosha Schneider)respectively aged 22 years old and 26 years old.

Reconciling family and activism

Made of eight episodes, Greek salad takes place in Athens, where Tom and Mia inherit a building, bequeathed by their late grandfather. Young startuppers trained in New York, Tom will realize that his sister Mia is hiding from his family an activist, committed to the rights of refugees. Despite the differences of opinion and the difficult management of the inheritance, Mia and Tom will live in a community with other young people from all over Europe. A collective life that will help them get closer…

This time, the European adventures of the hero characters will not take place on the big screen, but serial. The emblematic actors of the older generation will also be present: next Romain Duris, we will notably find Kelly Reilly, Cécile de France, Kevin Bishop and Barnaby Metschurat. This intergenerational fresco will in fact be available on Amazon Prime on April 14th !
