The beginning of the year will have been right for many and many of us: the good intentions are already far away, over, the pilates challenge you started on January 2, postponed, the ideal time when you would like to go to bed. All is not lost, though: if among your good intentions, being more vigilant about how you eat and making sure you buy fruit and vegetables in season, figure prominently, here is an article that could guide you.
February vegetables
- spinach
- Lamb’s lettuce
- Endive
- Brussels sprouts
- celeriac
- Turnip
- parsnip
- kale
- The carrot
- Jerusalem artichokes
- The leek
- black radish
- Salsify
- rutabagas
Right now, on the vegetable side, the counter of your favorite greengrocer should be covered in green. And this is good, since green vegetables, including cabbage, spinach or leeks, are rich in many vitamins (A, B6, C, K), but also contain minerals such as magnesium, calcium and iron. They also allow you to act in the prevention or fight against certain types of cancer, but they are also effective against cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
The fruits of February
- Apple
- Clementine
- The kiwi
- orange
- Mandarin
- The pear
- The grenade
The beginning of the year is synonymous with an increased need for vitamin C. So do not hesitate to enjoy the sweet flavors offered by the seasonal fruits of January and February. Oranges such as sunshine, clementine, orange or tangerine will meet all your vitamin needs. But it is also the case of the kiwi, which is eaten with a spoon, for gluttony.
And if you lack inspiration for a good recipe, here are two ideas:
- The best recipe for apple and cinnamon pie to be enjoyed hot
- The carrot in four original recipes
