Courtenay Valenti is set to land a top movie role at MGM/Amazon: The Dish

EXCLUSIVE: Sources tell us Courtenay Valenti, former president of production and development at Warner Bros., is nearing the end of her vetting process at Amazon Studios/MGM and is now negotiating her contract for a top film position at the studio.

In November, it was announced that Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, would oversee MGM, which they acquired for $8.5 billion. It was also noted at the time that Julie Rapaport would continue to lead the AOM team and oversee the MGM film crew. The new organizational structure after the arrival of Valenti is unsorted.

Salke and Rapaport recently boosted their film careers by winning a heated auction for a body-switching comedy starring Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston, with Max Barbakow writing and directing, and Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap producing.

Valenti left her senior position at Warner Bros in October after 33 years working on numerous Oscar-winning tentpoles including argon, A star is born, Mad Max Fury Road, and this year’s elvis Valenti has also played major roles in a number of films that have yet to hit the big screen on the Warner panel, including crazy max turnoff furious, Greta Gerwig Barbie with Margot Robbie and the film of the Broadway musical The color purple Produced by Steven Spielberg and Oprah Winfrey.
