“We were really good friends for six years and I went to Australia and we both had different jobs and we didn’t know that many people there. It was good to see a familiar face and our universes just collided. That’s all,” said Rita. “It was the connection between us that made me think I was ready to settle in. I never think about such things because I don’t want to bring bad luck to anything.”
And their relationship seems to have influenced his new album: “Basically this is my love story for the whole world, but I wanted people to really get in touch with him. There are different aspects of love: It’s not just about falling in love with one person, you can fall in love with a pint of beer, which is my favorite thing to do.”
“With the help of the album, I captured this moment in my life that I fell in love with. There are things I’ve talked about there, very personal considerations, about what it cost me to choose this person and dedicate myself to him. I was very brave and confident in the album. I wrote a lot of songs for this album, I was there at every session, and if not, I remade the songs myself.
