It’s the return of the slightly WTF but still ingenious TikTok hacks. This time we won’t tell you about a new menstrual mask or an obscure technique to lengthen the interval between shampoos, but about a method to curl hair naturally thanks to… A colander. It was the content creator Theogbells, with over 207,000 subscribers on her account, who came up with the idea to use the kitchen utensil to replace the diffuser of your hair dryer. A technique original, but effective to allow the curls to dry while maintaining a nice taut wave. All without getting fluffy or tangled.

How to perform this technique?
If Theogbells was the first to publish this technique on TikTok, it has since been widely taken up by other users of the Chinese social network. If you want to try it yourself, it’s actually quite simple. Simply position the wet lengths (previously protected by thermoprotective treatment) in the colander and hold the blow dryer just below it to spread the heat. to execute some bottom-up movements to give momentum to the curls and once dry, you can move on to the rest of your hair and your roots. Simple, effective.

Beware of accidents
If this method seems to work wonders, let’s not forget one thing: metal tends to retain heat and heat up. An unimportant problem when cooking pasta, but which can lead to accidents when its classic use is diverted for the purpose of hair. If you get too close to the hot colander, you risk burning your hands, ears, neck or face. Reason why it is better to handle it with the utmost care and use the hair dryer at a reasonable temperature to avoid second degree burns.
