Three-year-old girl dies after being trapped in washing machine: French father’s gruesome discovery while searching for his daughter

Paris authorities on Friday launched an investigation into the death of a three-year-old girl, who was found in the washing machine at her family’s home.

The child was discovered in northeast Paris on Thursday evening, the capital’s public prosecutor said.

The drama happened after the father had dinner with his 37-year-old wife and one of their other children, reports Le Parisien.

At the end of the meal, the parents were concerned about the girl’s absence, it said.

An investigation into the cause of death began on Friday after the child was discovered in northeast Paris on Thursday evening, the capital’s prosecutor’s office said.

The whole family then looked for her in the apartment and outside and asked the neighbors for help.

The girl turned three less than a week ago, according to the publication, which added that the discovery was made at around 10.30pm at the apartment in Paris’ 20th arrondissement.

According to Le Parisien, when they found the daughter, the father immediately called the emergency medical services, who said the child was already in critical condition when she was rescued.

She was pronounced dead just after 11:30 p.m., the newspaper reported.

According to the 48-year-old father, the door of the washing machine was closed when relatives found it.

The household appliance was not switched on, reports Le Parisien.

Initial details suggest it was related to suffocation, and there were reportedly no signs of violence on her body.

The autopsy has not yet taken place.

A source said the parents have five children, including the deceased.

“The oldest is 18 years old, then there are the boys between 7 and 16 years old, and finally the victim,” they added, pointing out that the parents also did not know what their other four children were doing at dinner.

A special unit for the protection of minors is leading the investigation.

In July, a seven-year-old boy was found dead in a washing machine in Spring, Texas, just hours after his parents reported him missing.

Around 05:20, Troy Khoeler’s parents filed a missing persons report with the police, Lt. Robert Minchew of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said.

When police arrived at the home of Jermaine Thomas and Tiffany Thomas, the couple said the boy had been missing since around 4am.

After the parents attended a brief interview for the missing persons report, officers found “signs” telling them to search the entire house for the boy.

Then they discovered his body in the washing machine in the garage.

Jermaine Thomas was charged with capital murder and Tiffany Thomas with negligent injury to a child.
