Robbie Knievel, son of Evel Knievel, also known as Captain Robbie Knievel, died at the age of 60.

The daredevil died in hospice after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

He took over the career of his father, who was known for his death-defying motorcycle jumps, making a total of 350 jumps in his lifetime.

Robbie started at a young age and was tutored by his father.

One of Robbie’s most famous stunts came in 2009 when he jumped over the man-made volcano in front of the Mirage Hotel on the Las Vegas strip.

His father Evel – who was a huge star in the 1970s and 1980s – died of lung disease in 2007 at the age of 69 in Clearwater, Florida.

Robert Craig “Evel” Knievel was an American stuntman and entertainer.

He attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps over the course of his career.

Evel told Esquire magazine: “Anyone can jump on a motorcycle. The problem starts when you try to land it.

Knievel retired in 1981 after breaking more than 40 bones in his body, including seven in his back, and suffering numerous concussions.

Knievel was inducted into the Motorcycle Hall of Fame in 1999.

Knievel’s website states that he chose his nickname after spending a night in jail in 1956 after being arrested for reckless driving.
