Eight activists, all under the age of 30, committed to the fight against climate change. They and they were reunited by singer Billie Eilish for the January issue of vogue.
An initiative by the artist who wanted to highlight personalities mobilized for the survival of our ecosystems and our planet: Tori Tsui, mobilized on mental health and on climate and intersectional issues, Xiye Bastida, climate and visibility activist of indigenous peoples, Ryan Berberet , who led a walkout at his high school in California, Isaias Hernandez, creator of Queer Brown Vegan, Quannah Chasinghorse, model and activist for indigenous peoples’ rights, Maya Penn, lead fashion designer, Nalleli Cobo , cancer survivor and activist who successfully shut down a polluting industrial site and Wanjiku “Wawa” Gatheru, creator of Black Girl Environmentalist.

The opportunity for fascinating discussions about how to get involved when you yourself are in a precarious situation or your own health is at stake, how both sides have approached the climate fight as racialized people who have not always felt included in this field, how to include the issue of social justice in the green movement.

On his last tour Happy as everBillie Eilish made sure to institute environmentally conscious measures by partnering with Reverb, an organization that aims to reduce the impact of concerts and festivals.
Eco-villages were set up during his concerts, spaces where the public could fill their water bottles for free, register to vote, meet environmental NGOs and raise awareness of the fight against waste. .
Billie Eilish says she doesn’t want to show her commitment under everyone’s noses all the time, and instead takes action to lead by example. “I’m more the type to not tell people what to do, I’ll just tell them I’m doing it” before adding laughing, “but you’ll be a bad person if you don’t.” He also refuses to use private airline flights for his tour travels.
