Kate Winslet empowers a very young journalist (and us with it)

Every journalist has had such an anecdote about his first steps in the profession: you start, you are sent to interview a very famous person, who turns out to be dirty, pedantic and soaked herself and doesn’t hesitate to let you know that you’re inexperienced, that your questions suck, and that she has better things to do than answer them (that’s not true, because it’s on sale).

Martha, a budding reporter for the German channel ZDF, will have a completely different memory of her first interview with a star, the immense Kate Winslet, who presented Avatars 2. The actress’s little note to the young journalist has gone viral, it proves it yes, it is possible to be empathetic and benevolent even when you have Hollywood at your feet:

You know what? When we do this interview, it will be the best interview ever. You know why? Because we decided it would be. you must be afraid, it’s all right. Well? You can do it. Let’s go!”

So obviously, you won’t be meeting Kate Winslet today, but it’s not impossible that if this little word of encouragement touches us so much, it’s because there are days when we really need it.
