Jim Carrey will star in a new live-action movie adaptation of The Jetsons, according to a corporate document from Warner Bros. Discovery. The studio confirmed Carrey's lead role in its most recent quarterly letter to shareholders, bringing the iconic Hanna-Barbera futuristic family to the big screen after years of unfulfilled rumors and projects.
The corporate filing represents significant progress for a production that has spent more than 20 years trying to become a feature film. Although various names and proposals emerged surrounding the adaptation over two decades, Warner Bros. had never officially named Carrey as part of the project in a corporate document until now.
Theatrical Release Timeline
The upcoming movie does not yet have an exact release date. According to the calendar presented by Warner Bros. Discovery, the film's arrival in theaters is planned for beyond 2027. The studio has not disclosed when principal photography will begin or which actors will join Carrey in the cast.
