Lenovo's IdeaPad Flex 5 convertible laptop is being sold for a limited time at 749 euros through PcComponentes, a 350-euro cut from its usual catalogue price of 1,100 euros, according to a report by La Razón.

The reduction brings the mid-to-high-range 2-in-1 device below the 800-euro mark just as the school year gets under way, making it a tempting option for anyone looking to replace their equipment for the new term, the report said.

A convertible built for multitasking
The IdeaPad Flex 5 is built around a 360-degree hinge that lets it switch between a traditional laptop, a tablet and an interactive stand in seconds, according to the report. Lenovo designed the convertible for university students, technicians and professionals who need to handle demanding multitasking, light photo editing or programming work while on the move.

Its performance comes from an AMD Ryzen 7 5825U processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, part of AMD's Ryzen 5000 series of mobile chips, paired with 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM running at 4,266MHz and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD. The report said the combination delivers a smooth response when opening multiple applications, working with heavy documents or managing cloud-based projects.

Display, battery and design
The laptop has a 14-inch IPS touchscreen with a WUXGA resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels in a 16:10 format, a taller aspect ratio that the report said gives extra vertical space on screen for reading notes, reviewing code or taking handwritten notes.

The chassis, finished in Abyss Blue, weighs 1.55kg and houses a 52.5Wh battery with fast charging that can recover up to two hours of use in just 15 minutes through its USB-C port, according to the report.
Connectivity and security features
On connectivity and security, the laptop includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, a fingerprint reader for quick log-ins, and a Full HD 1080p webcam with a physical privacy shutter, which the report said ensures sharp video quality for online classes or work meetings.
PcComponentes' terms for the purchase include fast delivery to the buyer's door, official warranty coverage and straightforward returns, according to the report.
