Dominican recording artist Gabriel Pagán has officially released his new studio album, No Era El Plan, ushering in a fresh creative phase for his career. The nine-track production launched alongside an official music video for its title track, which is available on major digital streaming platforms and official channels.

The album release follows five consecutive weeks at number one on the Monitor Latino Pop Chart for Pagán's hit single No Somos Nada, recorded in collaboration with the urban tropical group Ilegales. Monitor Latino is an established airplay tracking service that monitors radio broadcasting across Latin America and North America.
Pagán is known in Latin music for fusing classic Dominican merengue with contemporary pop and urban rhythms. Merengue, a fast-tempo dance music originating in the Dominican Republic, relies heavily on traditional percussion and brass instrumentation.
True to its title, which translates as It Was Not the Plan, the new record came together unexpectedly. Pagán said the album took shape in an organic manner, guided by his goal to produce authentic music while contributing to the modern evolution of merengue.
The production also serves as a gesture of unity within the Dominican music industry. Pagán noted that the record brings together artists across multiple generations and musical styles, bridging traditional Caribbean sounds with modern urban influences.

Collaborations and Tracklist
The nine-track album features guest appearances from prominent Dominican acts spanning several eras of tropical music. Featured artists include Latin Grammy nominee Manny Cruz, veteran merengue singer Eddy Herrera, pioneering urban groups Proyecto Uno and Ilegales, and rising performer La Luca.
The record opens with the title track No Era El Plan, followed by Loop featuring Manny Cruz, Un Poquito De Los Dos featuring Ilegales, and Like featuring Proyecto Uno. The tracklist continues with Sin Presión featuring Eddy Herrera, Dos Puntos, Llévame featuring La Luca, Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta-Ta, and closes with Replay.
Pagán co-produced the album in collaboration with producer YM Freak. Audio engineer Lewis Pickett handled the final mixing, crafting a modern sound profile that maintains the core identity and traditional essence of Dominican merengue.
Promotional Tour and Future Projects
The debut of the No Era El Plan music video marks the launch of a multi-month promotional campaign. Pagán will promote each song on the album individually over the coming months, releasing dedicated audiovisual material, collaborative projects, and targeted marketing campaigns.
As part of his promotional efforts, Pagán will perform the new tracks for thousands of students during the fourth edition of his 2026 University Tour. He is also scheduled to perform at concert venues and music festivals throughout the remainder of the year.
Through this new release, Pagán stated that he remains committed to bringing merengue to broader international audiences. The artist emphasized his focus on evolving the genre's contemporary sound without losing its historical roots, while strengthening creative unity among Dominican musicians.
