Feiniu Launches Evo 4 Pro NAS With Intel Chip in China

Chinese manufacturer Feiniu has begun selling a new version of its Evo 4 Pro network-attached storage (NAS) server, this time built around an Intel Core i5-13500H processor.

The device is now available in China starting at 4,499 yuan. That base configuration comes with 8GB of DDR4 memory and 128GB of system storage. A version with 16GB of RAM costs 4,899 yuan, while the top configuration with 32GB is priced at 5,699 yuan. Feiniu had earlier released the same Evo 4 Pro chassis fitted with an AMD Ryzen 7 H255 processor instead.

The Intel Core i5-13500H is a 12-core, 16-thread mobile processor rated for 45 watts of power draw. It is part of Intel's 13th-generation lineup aimed at laptops and compact systems that need strong multitasking performance without high power consumption. The Evo 4 Pro has two memory slots that let users expand its RAM up to 96GB.

Storage and Networking

On the networking side, the server offers Ethernet ports running at 10 gigabits and 2.5 gigabits per second, giving it faster data transfer than most consumer NAS devices. For storage, it includes four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, one of which is taken up by the system SSD. The remaining slots support RAID 0, RAID 1 and RAID 5 arrays, a common set of configurations that balance speed, redundancy or a mix of both. Each SSD installed can hold up to 8TB.

The Evo 4 Pro is not limited to solid-state drives. It can also house up to four SATA hard drives in either 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch formats, with each drive supporting capacities up to 32TB.

Media Handling

Feiniu highlighted the device's multimedia capabilities as well. Its Intel Media Engine supports hardware encoding and decoding for H.264, HEVC and VP9 Profile 0 to 3, along with GPU acceleration for professional formats including ProRes and APV 422 Pro.
