Harrison Ford reveals why he’s joining the MCU and whether he’ll become the Red Hulk or not

A month ago, one of the great rumors related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that circulated on social networks was confirmed: the legendary Harrison Ford is part of Marvel Studios. The actor, who will make his MCU debut on May 3, 2024 with the premiere of ‘Captain America: New World Order,’ has revealed the simple reason why he joined Marvel Studios and he dropped something interesting about his character’s fate.

Harrison Ford reveals why he’s joining the MCU and whether he’ll become the Red Hulk or not

Ford will play General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, a character we’ve already seen on several occasions in the MCU played by the late William Hurt. The actor, who will reprise Hurt’s role, revealed to The Playlist the reason for his signing to the superhero franchise: “Hey, look, I’ve done a lot of stuff. Now I want to do some that I haven’t done.” And is that the actor saved the galaxy as Han Solo in “Star Wars”, had great adventures as Indiana Jones (he still has another in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny”) and fell in love of a replicant in “Blade Runner,” but what he didn’t do is put on a motion capture suit to, through CGI, bring a non-human character to life. It turns out that General Ross, a top member of the US military, ends up becoming the Red Hulk in the comics. a version of the traditional Hulk capable of standing up to him. When the outlet asked Ford if he would wear the motion capture suit for this one, the actor limited himself to smiling and gesturing as if his lips were sealed.

While we still don’t know much about ‘Captain America: New World Order’, a film starring Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson, we do know that It will continue with the events presented in “Falcon and the Winter Soldier”, where Sam Wilson is proclaimed the new Captain America. It is unknown if Sebastian Stan will return as Bucky for the film, but the ones we will see again are Isaiah Bradley and Joaquín Torres, characters introduced in the series. Additionally, Tim Blake Nelson reprises his role from “The Incredible Hulk” as the villainous EL Líder.

We will see more of Ford

If it wasn’t enough for Marvel Studios fans to have Harrison Ford in “Captain America 4”, Rumors indicate we will see him again in ‘Thunderbolts’, film that brings together Yelena Belova, Bucky, US Agent, Red Guardian, Ghost, Supervisor and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine. This project will hit the big screen on July 26, 2024, just two months after the ‘New World Order’.
