IO Interactive announces the launch of the Stadia Progression Carryover program in January for HITMAN

We are very close to the official shutdown of Google Stadia. I’m still very upset about this personally. It was a fantastic service that Google self-sabotaged and then blamed on consumers when they announced it was coming to an end. Well, if you’ve played a few games on the service, some companies have been responsive to finding ways to transfer your progress from games on the service to another platform. Cyberpunk 2077 lets you do that, and recently IO Interactive announced that fans of Hitman he will be able to do it too.

If you were playing Hitman A solution is in the works on Stadia that will allow for a one-time transfer of progress. Stadia Progression Carryover will allow you to move your campaign progress, XP, challenge status, unlocks, mastery levels, and achievements to any other supported platform: PC (Epic|Steam), PlayStation, or Xbox. Sadly, Stadia Progression Carryover isn’t ready yet, but the team expects to be able to enable it at least a week before Stadia shuts down on January 18.

Once the Stadia progression transfer goes live, you’ll need to make sure your Stadia account is linked to an active IOI account. This must be done before January 18th or there is nothing that can be done.

It’s also important to note that some things won’t be able to move platforms. This includes Stadia-exclusive items like the Sunset Rubber Duck, Orange Pinstripe Briefcase, and White Sunset Suit. Additionally, leaderboard positions, saves, and created contracts will also be non-transferable. Below you will find a timeline of when to expect things to happen.

• As soon as possible: create an IOI account and connect your Stadia profile. It is absolutely essential to do this before January 18, 2023.

• Important: If you don’t link your Stadia account to an IOI account before Google shuts down the Stadia servers on January 18, 2023, it will be impossible to transfer your progress.

• January 11, 2023*: Stadia progression transfer will be enabled by IOI, via the existing progression transfer portal.

• January 18, 2023: Google Stadia servers shut down. The exact timing and process is determined entirely by Google.

• February 17, 2023, 9:00 UTC*: The Stadia Progress Portal will be shut down and it will no longer be possible for players of HITMAN – World of Assassination on Stadia to transfer their Stadia progress.
