Dark Horse comics are preparing for the release of Stranger Things: The Hawkins Tales. This new anthology series from the writer Jody Houser (Critical Role: Origins of Vox Machina, Star Wars: Thrawn) and artists Gaius Philippe, Sunando C, Giorgia Gio Espositocolorist Dan Jacksonand letter Nate Piekos it will take you on a journey to follow the other citizens of the small town of Hawkins. Here is the synopsis:
On the surface, Hawkins, Indiana seems like the kind of town where nothing too extraordinary ever happens, but in the fall of ’83, it’s far from safe. In Tales from Hawkins #1, two friends head into the woods with their shotguns and a six-pack. These would-be hunters find themselves prey to a nightmarish beast that has claimed the wilderness around the city and everything within it, including themselves.
I can only assume things are not looking good for these hunters as I’m pretty sure we found out that these were some of the people who went missing from the city in the first season of the show. But I think it will be interesting to see what actually happened to them and what they were able to learn before the Demogorgon got to them. Or maybe they’ve escaped and been hiding in a new city all this time. I am excited to read this anthology series as we wait for the next season of Stranger things to release. You can collect Stranger Things: The Hawkins Tales #1 in the comic book store on February 8, 2023 with variant covers by artists Kyle Lambert, Diego Galindoand Danny Luckert also available.
