EXCLUSIVE: Wrestler Chris Jericho, fresh off a supporting role in Horror Breakout terrier 2will star in wrestling-themed horror Dark Match.
Jericho stars with Ayisha Issa (Graft), Steve Ogg (The living dead), Sarah Cannon (The Vampire Diaries), Michael Eklund (Wynonna Oorp) and Jonathan Kers (Continue).
In the film by Dept. Recently featured in Edmonton, Canada, 9 Studios, a small wrestling company accepts a well-paying gig in a backwoods town, only to discover upon arrival that the community is run by a mysterious cult leader with devious plans for their game.
Picture was written and directed by Lowell Dean (wolf head) and is produced by John MacDonald, who is also an executive producer along with Jericho. Don Depoe and Michael Feehan, who along with Rhonda Baker (The resentment) and Michael Peterson.
The film’s writer-director Lowell Dean said, “It was amazing to shoot in Edmonton and work with such a talented cast and crew every day. I am excited about the opportunity to work with Dept.9 Studios and the producer’s support in the process Dark Match to live.”
Founded in 2019 by John MacDonald, Dept.9 Studios is a 26,000 square foot production facility located in Edmonton, Alberta. The company develops and produces its own films and TV and leases the premises to third parties.
