Thirteen years have passed since then Avatars is out in theaters and it seems that we will see a time jump for the characters in the upcoming film as well. We don’t know exactly how long that period of time will last, but it’s enough James Cameronthe director of the film, was able to write an entire manuscript about the time gap between the films.
At a recent press conference the star of the film, Sam Worthingtonwho plays Jake Sully, the disabled ex-Marine turned Na’vi freedom fighter, revealed that Cameron gave him a huge manuscript before they started shooting the Avatars sequel which detailed the adventures her character had with Neyteri (Zoe Saldana) before settling into domestic bliss.
Worthington explained:
“Jim realized that story was about them as warriors and having battles with other clans. He gave us a good starting point to understand how to fill that gap that is missing ”.
It’s kind of cool that at least the characters get to hang out together and build that relationship while preparing for the role. While that wasn’t the story he wanted to tell in this film, it’s nice to give the characters that backstory to build upon. Avatar: The Water Way hits theaters December 16. Are you excited about this?
