Who hasn’t watched The Lord of the Rings and did you not wish to visit the Shire? Well, Airbnb will give some fans the chance to spend a couple of nights at the Hobbiton Movie Set. Co-founder of Hobbiton Russell Alexander will let up to 12 guests spread over three 2-night stays for just $10NZD per night! If you’re already interested, you’ll need to hurry to the Airbnb listing on Dec. 14 at 10am NZDT and pray you can get one of the deals. If you are lucky enough to have it, the stays will take place from 2 to 4 March, from 9 to 11 March and from 16 to 18 March.
Nestled in the picturesque pastures of New Zealand’s Waikato region on a 2,500 acre working farm, the property’s rolling green hills bear a striking resemblance to The Shire™ as described by JRR Tolkien in The Lord of the Rings and captivated film scout Sir Peter Jackson more than two decades ago. The team quickly realized that the Hobbits had found their home, and this holiday season, it could be yours.
Speaking about the opportunity, Alexander said:
For more than two decades, we’ve welcomed millions of passionate fans to the Hobbiton Movie Set, but never before has anyone had the opportunity to spend a night in Middle-earth. I am delighted to share the beauty of my family’s farm and delighted to host this iconic place on Airbnb for fans around the world.
Fans are sure to enjoy themselves if they are able to go. You will have access to 44 Hobbit Holes, The Millhouse, The Green Dragon Inn and more! Creative director Brian Massey oversaw a “cosy overnight stay” at The Millhouse, private access to a personal Hobbit Hole, an evening feast at The Green Dragon Inn” featuring beef and ale stew, whole roast chicken, freshly baked bread and plenty of ale, plus main courses ™ and Elevenses™ served daily”, a private tour and more. However, you must be able to comply with the following rules:
house rules
