Makoto Shinkai tasted success again with the premiere of ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ in Japanese theaters where it scored impressive numbers at the box office. Now, for its theatrical release in Mexico, Crunchyroll has confirmed the release date of the film, which has now been retitled ‘Suzume’, and which aims to dethrone ‘Your Name’ and ‘Time with you’.
Through their social networks, Crunchyroll has confirmed this ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ opens April 13thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment, Wild Bunch International and Eurozoom. Also, director Makoto Shinkai’s new film has officially changed its name and will be released under the title of ‘Suzume’ as it can be found in Mexican cinemas.
And although it can later be found on the Crunchyroll platform, “suzume’ It can be seen in theaters in Mexico next year. This is great news for both the director and anime fans, as it is one of the biggest Japanese animated productions of 2022, which can now be seen on a big screen outside of his home country.
So far, ‘Suzume no Tojimari’ has grossed more than $55 million in Japan since its premiere on November 11, where it has sold 5.6 million tickets. Upon its release, it lasted 3 consecutive weeks at the No. 1 gross at the Japanese box office. For now, it is expected that Crunchyroll confirms ‘Suzume’ release date for the rest of Latin America.

What is the story of ‘Suzume’ about?
Makoto Shinkai’s new film ‘Suzume’ has shared a new trailer to confirm its arrival in theaters outside of Japan. The film’s story follows a 17-year-old girl living in a small town in Kyushu, where she meets a young man who leads her to a door which, when opened, sets off a series of cataclysmic events across Japan, and only she can close. them to avoid further chaos.
