The team behind the R-rated Winnie the Pooh horror film, Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey, is developing another violent horror film based on a classic Disney animated character… Bambi. The new film is called Bambi: The showdownand will turn the beloved deer into an “evil killing machine”.
The film will tell the story of a bloodthirsty deer after his mother is murdered. The film will be executive produced by Rhys Frake Waterfieldwhich he directed Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honeyand will be led by Blood and honey producer Scott Jeffrey, who told Dread Central:
“The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story we all know and love. Drawing inspiration from the design used in Netflix’s The Ritual, Bambi will be a vicious killing machine lurking in the desert. Get ready for Bambi on rage!”
Also, Frake-Waterfield’s next scheduled film is a horror film based on Peter Pan. He’s also reportedly developing a story centered around Loki, the Norse god of mischief. This team of film producers has found their niche and there are definitely people out there who will watch these movies. It’s all silly to me, but the filmmaking team is obviously enjoying making them.
Filmmakers may not use any elements of Bambi introduced in the Disney animated film, including his character design. That’s okay, though, because any other deer character design will do.
