Chris Hemsworth he is best known for playing Thor Odinson in the MCU. The first two films were serious and dark in nature and, in my opinion, a bit boring. Thor was able to come out of his shell a bit in the avengers movies, and then we really got to see his funny side Thor: Ragnarok And Thor: Love and thunder. Now we’re not sure what Thor’s fate is, with no film showing up on the horizon for the superhero. But Hemsworth has feelings about what he should be like if he comes back.
In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast, Hemsworth was asked point blank where the Thor Odinson story should go. He replied:
“I mean, you look at Thor one and two, they were quite similar. Ragnarok and Love & Thunder: similar. I think it’s just about reinventing it. [Avengers] Infinity War and Endgame to do very drastic things with the character; I like it, I like keeping people alert, it keeps me alert, it keeps me invested. And I’ve said this before: when it gets too familiar, I think there’s a risk of getting lazy, I think, like, ‘Ah, I know what I’m doing,’ you know? So I don’t know — again, I don’t even know if I’ll be invited back. But if you were, I think it would have to be a drastically different take: tone, everything. Just for my sanity [laughs].”
It makes sense, given that Hemsworth has been playing this character for the past 11 years and doesn’t want it to become stagnant. But I wonder what a new version of the character would be like. What do you think?
