Tenoch Huerta won’t be able to have his Namor film due to rights issues – Special: NaciónFlix (Marvel)
With the premiere of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel introduced one of its biggest surprises, as well as a character that has been a cornerstone for its history in comics. It’s about Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, to which many fans are asking for a solo film, but one of the Marvel producers explains why it won’t be possible, at least for now.
In a report on the comics, Marvel studios producer Nate Moore revealed this enter Namor ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ it was a problem with Universal, since the latter owns the rights to the character and can only be used together with other superheroes of the company. That’s why a Tenoch Huerta solo film is nearly impossible.
This is Tenoch Huerta couldn’t star in a Namor movie for the rights to the character, which currently belongs to Universal, but which Marvel is fighting to get back at one point. All of this had a huge impact on how the superhero was used in the film, as Moore reveals: “There really weren’t things we couldn’t do character-wise for him.”
Also, the producer reveals that they had to do “some major changes” in the Namor de Tenoch Huerta “to really anchor it in that world, in a truth the post never quite landed on.” Finally, Moore praised Ryan Coogler for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’: “he IS such a detail-oriented director that he wanted to anchor himself in something that was so tangible and real”.

The legal problems of Marvel and Universal
Since before the superhero movie fever started, Marvel sold the rights to some of their characters to different producers, to stay safe and, incidentally, allow some of them to be adapted. This is how Spiderman came to Sony and the X-Men to FOX. With Disney returning or being able to use most of what they have sold, they are now concerned with integrating all of them into the MCU.
Namor, like the Hulk, has the rights split between Marvel and Universal, and if he continues to appear in the MCU, Tenoch Huerta will have to share the screen with other characters in which he is not the protagonist, despite the fact that his origin and many other things have been changed to showcase K’ukulk’an in the cinematic universe.
Unfortunately for fans who have been calling for a stand-up comedy from the king of Atlantis, there is still a long way to go, at least for now, before Marvel can pull off a stand-up comedy about Namor, again with Tenoch Huerta playing the lead.
