Bambi will also have a horror film like ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’

It seems that the horror trend of reviving child characters to turn them into serial killers, started by “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”, will continue for the next few years. And is that, the same producer behind the horror film of the lovable yellow bear, has confirmed that he is also working on a terrifying adaptation of Bambi.

In a report from Dread Central, which confirmed the development of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ ahead of its development, they confirmed that They’re going to make a horror movie about Bambi, from the same producers, ITN Studios and Jagged Edge Productions. The film also already has an associate director, and it will be Scott Jeffrey, responsible for titles such as “The Bad Nun” and “The Curse of Humpty Dumpty”.

The ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’-style horror film will come the title of ‘Bambi: The showdown’, and of which the director has already anticipated the first details in his account: “The film will be an incredibly dark retelling of the 1923 story we all know and love.” Also, he claims that his direct inspiration is Netflix’s ‘The Ritual’ and his projects.

And finally he adds:Bambi will be a vicious killing machine that lurks in the wilderness. Get ready for some Bambi-like rampage!” Jeffrey said. For the uninitiated, the horror film will take the story released in 1942, to give it a terrifying twist, and it is possible, since, like ‘Winnie the Pooh: BH’, the rights to the character have fallen into the public domain.

Children’s character horror movies that are coming

Production company Jagged Edge wants to specialize in taking children’s characters from many years old stories and animations, to exploit the legality of taking them and turning them into horror films. In addition to ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’, which will be released in February 2023, director Rhys Frake-Waterfield is also working on the sequel and other adaptations.

After ‘Blood and Honey 2’, Waterfield has confirmed that he will also adapt Peter Pan into a film called ‘Neverland Nightmare’. As well as another tape where Thor becomes an evil god killer. And along with this year’s “Mad Heidi,” the trend of turning child icons into murderers or psychopaths will be a course forward for future horror films.

For now, ‘Bambi: The Reckoning’ is expected to begin production in January 2023, under the supervision of ITN Studios and Jagged Edge Productions. While fans wait to see the first horror that turns Winnie the Pooh into a vicious killer of young people, February 15 of the following year.
