Alfredo Molinhe returned as Doc Ock Spider-Man: There’s no way back home it didn’t end up being the big surprise Marvel and Sony were hoping for. The actor accidentally ruined his return in an interview. It was just a slip of the tongue, but the heads of Marvel and Sony weren’t happy.
During a recent interview with RadioTimes, Molina was asked about the incident, saying, “Just by chance, I was talking to a reporter who said, ‘So, you know, how’s the Spider-Man movie going?’ And I said, “Oh, thank you.” Then literally the next day, Variety said, “Alfred Molina reveals Doc Ock is back.”
He went on to talk about the reaction from Marvel and Sony, saying, “And I got into trouble. I was getting calls from Amy Pascal, Kevin Feige was on the red carpet somewhere and someone asked him about a Marvel movie and apparently he got a little dismissive, turned around and said, ‘Ask Alfred Molina ‘”.
Molina will never make the same mistake again! When asked if his character would appear again in the MCU, he replied: “I can neither confirm nor deny. That’s the official line. I got into a bit of trouble during the last iteration because I I just happened to let the cat out of the bag… completely innocently.”
Regardless of whether Doc Ock would be back, along with all the other characters that should have been a surprise, like Andrew Garfield And Tobey Maguirethe iterations of Spider-Man, Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin, e Jamie Foxx’With Electro, it was still a great movie that audiences had a great time watching!
But seriously, can anyone actually get mad at Alfred Molina?
