FX Networks has released a trailer for the producer Darren Aronofskythe upcoming FX miniseries by Affine. The project is an adaptation of the Hugo Award-winning novel Octavia E. Butler. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this series, but it looks like a great show that tells the fascinating story of a young woman who is whisked back and forth through time.
Affine centers on Dana James (Mallori Johnson), “a young black woman and aspiring writer who has uprooted her life of family obligations and moved to Los Angeles, ready to reclaim a future that, for once, feels all her own. But, before she can settle into her new home, she finds herself violently pulled back and forth in time. She emerges on a 19th-century plantation, a place extraordinarily and intimately connected to Dana and her family. An interracial romance spans Dana’s past and present, and time is ticking as she struggles to face secrets she never knew run through her blood in this groundbreaking exploration of the bonds that bind them.
It will be interesting to see how this story plays out. The series was created by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, who is also the showrunner. He has been a consulting producer on shows such asGuardians And External range. The series is also starring Not Stock as Kevin Franklin Ryan Kwanten like Thomas, Gayle Rankin like Margaret, Austin Smith like Luke, David Alexander Kaplan, Sophia BrownAnd Sheria Irving like Olivia.
FX will make its debut Affineand will stream on Hulu starting December 13, 2022. Check out the trailer and let us know if this sounds like a show you’d be interested in watching.
