‘Power Rangers’ pays moving tribute to the death of Jason David Frank

Power Rangers fans kicked off the week with one of the most unfortunate pieces of news, the death of Jason David Frank, who played Tommy Oliver, or better known as the Green Ranger, during multiple seasons of ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’. Now, an emotional tribute video pays tribute to the late, beloved actor.

In the official account of ‘Power Rangers’, shared an emotional video for Jason David Frank, regarding his recent death, entitled “Once a Ranger, Always a Ranger”, for its translation “Once a Ranger, forever a Ranger”. In the small tribute you can see some of David’s moments as Tommy, who was introduced in the Hasbro series as a villain, but quickly became a hero.

In the small tribute, the community Power Ranger pays homage to Jason David Frank, with the following words: “We cried together. Today we celebrate the heart, strength and raw talent Jason brought to the Power Rangers as Tommy Oliver. We are inspired by all the beautiful JDF tributes you have shared over the past few days. He was truly a legend among us and will be missed. May the power protect you. All time”.

In their personal accounts, other companions of the film actor and martial artist, such as Amy Jo Johnson, Walter Jones, Blake Foster, Steve Cárdenas and other members of the Power Rangers, sent a few words of condolences to Jason’s friends and family on his sensitive death. “Jase, you were beautiful and so unique. My life will not be the same without your amazing frenzied energy,” commented Amy the Pink Ranger.

The real cause of death of Jason David Frank

When the news was released on Sunday, Nov. 20, details of the actor’s death were unclear. But the most recent report indicates that Frank would have taken his own life, after having a “bad fight” with his wife Tammie, the previous Saturday, as confirmed by TMZ. Frank’s partner is known to have filed for divorce last August.

The couple reportedly rented separate rooms at a Texas hotel, but the fight started in Tammie’s room. They had an argument that night, which didn’t escalate into a major one, and it all calmed down when the venue staff intervened in the situation. The outburst underlines that after two hours they started being together again, and after a while Jason locked himself in the room, leaving his wife outside.

Around 5 a.m. on Saturday, Tammie called the police to find out the actor’s predicament, and that’s when the unfortunate news broke. Later, she Tammie took to Instagram to share some photos with Jason, in which she announced the actor’s death, without mentioning that it would be a suicide.
