The first season of Yellow Jackets it was really great and became one of the most animated shows of the year. The show grabbed my attention very quickly and I didn’t let go. The story and characters were fascinating and I was drawn in and hooked.
The series followed a very talented high school girls soccer team who “turned into savage clans after their plane crashed in the remote northern wilderness. Twenty-five years later, they discover that what began in nature is far from finished.”
The story of the series flashes back and forth between two periods: one, in the aftermath of a plane crash, when members of a women’s soccer team must fend for themselves; the other, in their adult lives, as they deal with the trauma of that experience in very different ways.
Christian Ricci he is part of the fantastic ensemble cast and is one of the most intriguing characters in the story. Also, the craziest. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ricci teased that the upcoming second season of Yellowjackets is “crazier, more shocking, and really addictive and fun.” He went on to say:
“I can’t really go into too much detail, but I will say the first two scripts blew the whole cast away. So it’s even wilder.”
Season 2 also added some interesting new cast members which include Lauren Ambrose like the adult version of Van, Simone Kessel will play adult Lottie, e Elijah Wood will join the cast as a new character named Walter. Speaking about the new cast members, Ricci shared:
“It’s really fun; it’s exciting. After our first season, people loved the show, so they’re excited to be there and it’s been really fun. Most of my scenes, not to spoil anything, but a lot of this season they’ve been with Elijah Wood and it’s wonderful to work with him again. We had a great time.”
The series is also starring Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sammi Hanratty, Steven Krueger, Warren KoleAnd Juliet Lewis.
I was looking forward to watching Yellowjackets season 2, and while there is no release date yet, it will most likely premiere in early 2023.
