The figure of Superman has inspired heroes and villains throughout its existence, see Homelander from ‘The Boys’, among many other characters of the style. Now, Marvel may be looking for its own version of Clark Kent, but for the worse, and already has its two perfect candidates for the role, actors Ryan Gosling and Alexander Skarsgard.
According to the information of the famous insider Daniel Ritchman, who has hit his rumors on more than one occasion, he shared on his Patreon account that Marvel considers Ryan Gosling and Alexander Skarsgard as a villain, who would appear in one of UCM’s future films. It’s interesting to think that Gosling and Skarsgard are very famous actors, but they’ve never been involved in superhero movies.
The voice indicates it Marvel wants Ryan Gosling or Alexander Skarsgard for the villain of ‘lightning’, the film that will bring together Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, among others. The role description mentions that they are looking for a male lead between the ages of 30 and 50, to play a “conflicted and powerful villain”.
No further details are available so far, but it is said that Marvel may present theirs “evil superman”, which could be about the Sentry, one of the most powerful villains in cartoons, and who has a very close relationship with the Super Soldier serum. Both Ryan Gosling and Alexander Skarsgard give the profile with their golden hair that the character would require.

Who is the Sentry, the “Superman” of Marvel Comics?
Should it come true, Gosling and Skarsgard would have their first foray with superheroes. On the one hand, Ryan is known for his recent participation in Netflix’s ‘The Gray Man’ and Alexander for ‘The Northman’ or ‘Godzilla vs Kong’. In any case, although Marvel has several Superman archetypes, such as Captain Marvel himself, Hyperion or Wonder Man, the Sentry is one of the most powerful, gathering the energy of “a million exploding suns”.
The Sentry’s real name is Robert Reynolds, a man with a tragic past that left him with severe psychological scars. He had adventures with the Hulk, Spider-Man or the Fantastic Four, but due to a dark force that lives within him, he erased everyone’s memories, and now no one remembers him anymore. “The Opponent” may make its first appearance in the MCU.
If this rumor is true, the truth is that he is too powerful a character for an inexperienced team like the Thunderbolts. Still, given his relationship with Super Soldier Serum and Bucky, it makes sense, though taking The Void with him could mean the group of anti-heroes will need a force majeure to save the day.
