Jason David Frank, one of the original stars of the classic 90s action series Power Rangers he died at the age of 49. According to reports, the actor and mixed martial artist died in Texas as a result of suicide. This is absolutely heartbreaking and to hear this news really hurts. I met him at a convention once he was a super nice guy!

Jason David Frank played my favorite character in Power Rangers, Tommy Oliver. He started out as the evil Green Ranger in season one. He ended up getting good, transforming into the White Ranger and becoming the leader of the Power Rangers. Frank starred in the series for 3 seasons, totaling 123 episodes.

Frank has also returned to the franchise several times over the years appearing in franchise shows such as Wild Force, Turbo, Zeo, Dino Thunder, Megaforce, Ninja Steel, HyperForceand more.

I had a lot of emotions about this. As someone dealing with depression and anxiety, I have had suicidal thoughts. I know life can get tough sometimes, I know the thoughts in the head can drive a person to extremely low levels and those thoughts can get out of control.

Please please please if you ever start spiraling with thoughts of suicide seek help. Speak with someone! The lifeline for suicide and crisis is 988. It provides free and confidential 24/7 support to people in distress.

Jason David Frank leaves behind his four children and my heart breaks for them. Jason’s rep, Justine she shared, “Please respect the privacy of his family and friends during this horrific time as we come to terms with the loss of such a wonderful human being. He loved his family, friends and fans dearly. He will be missed.” really”.

Walter Jones, who played the Black Ranger, said in a statement: “He was an inspiration to so many people. His presence will be greatly missed. It is so sad to lose another member of our Ranger family. Jason was one one of the biggest pranksters in the show. He had a wild sense of humor. We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but I’ve remained consistent in being an ear should he need it. My prayers go out to his family and all that he will miss.”

Our thoughts, hearts, prayers go out to Frank’s family and friends.
