Chris Hemsworth thinks Thor could die in the next film

The constant expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings with it the introduction of new characters, but also the inevitable farewell to some of the more veterans. From Marvel Studios’ first batch of Avengers, popularly known as the original Avengers, we’ve already said goodbye to Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow. According to the latest statements by Chris Hemsworth, actor who plays Thor in UCM, we may have to prepare to greet the god of thunder.

Chris Hemsworth thinks Thor could die in the next film

In an interview with Vanity Fair where he was asked if he hopes to wrap up his Marvel Studios character’s story, Hemsworth revealed that he thinks Thor’s next solo film could be the end of his long run in the MCU: “Yeah, sure. I have a feeling we should probably end that if I were to (play Thor) again, you know what I mean? I think I would probably warrant that. I have a feeling this could be the end of it, but this isn’t based on anything anyone has told me or any kind of plan (Marvel Studios). You have a hero’s birth, a hero’s journey, then a hero’s death and I don’t know, am I at that stage? Who knows?”.

Hemsworth is the only actor in the MCU to have four films about his character, and according to his last words it’s not impossible to see a fifth. Neither Disney nor Marvel Studios has made any official pronouncements on developing a new God of Thunder installment, but the first post-credits scene of “Thor: Love and Thunder” showed us that Thor has at least one more challenge. In it we have seen Zeus express his hatred towards superheroes and entrust his son Hercules with the task of ending them. It wouldn’t be strange if Hercules’ first target was Thor, since it was he who seriously injured Zeus in “Thor 4”, moreover, it is a rivalry and confrontation that exists in the comicsso the chances of seeing a Thor vs. Hercules adaptation on the big screen aren’t that far-fetched.

the legacy continues

We’ve said goodbyes to some of the MCU’s older characters before, but usually this finale also marks the beginning of a new era for others. Marvel Studios is doing something usual in comics: making when the journey of an important character is about to end, he passes the baton to another, who continues the legacy of his predecessor in his own way, uniting the essence of the original character with his own. Steve Rogers passed the mantle of Captain America to Sam Wilson, Hawkeye is coaching Kate Bishop, the end of Black Widow introduced us to his sister, Yelena Belova, and many other cases that have occurred and will occur in the future future . Will Thor have a replacement? “Thor: Love And Thunder” introduced his adopted daughter, and the second post-credits scene could mean Jane Foster’s story isn’t over. Will any of them replace Thor? Will a character unknown to this day do it? Or nobody? Only time will tell.

‘Thor: Love And Thunder’ is Available on Disney+.
