Mark Heap & More join ITVX drama Significant Other
mark hope (Dinner Friday night, distance from each other), Kelle Bryan (Me and Mrs Jones) and Shaun Williamson (east, extras) is among the cast added to the ITVX comedy Other half. Catherine Parkinson (The IT crowd, Here we go) and Youssef Kerkour (stay close) has already been announced to star in the show, which is produced by Quay Street Productions, part of ITV Studios. Additional cast members to be announced today include Ben Bailey Smith, Sue Vincent, Olivia Poulet and Will Ash. The series follows the “unromantic romance of two people whose dramatic but fateful first meeting changes their lives.” Based on Yes Studios’ Israeli series of the same name, it is currently filming in Manchester, UK and will be released on the upcoming streaming service ITVX in 2023. ITV Studios has international distribution rights.
“Drag Race” on the starting grid in Asia
Veteran distributor Gary Pudney’s O4 Media has signed on to represent World of Wonder’s drag race Format across Asia, in areas such as Thailand, India, Japan, Singapore and South Korea. The format of the drag competition has already been adapted in the UK, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, Australia and New Zealand after it was launched in 2009 on the American channel Logo TV. O4 will also adopt a spin-off format Secret celebrity drag race to Asia. It sees celebrities attempt to perform lip-synced acts while hiding their true identities behind drag personas.
‘Candyman’ and ‘Elm Street’ Actors Join ‘Whatever Happened to Dorothy Bell?’
EXCLUSIVE: The horror film from writer/director Danny Villanueva Jr What happened to Dorothy Bell? Added Michael Hargrove and Lisa Wilcox as supporting cast. Ozzie Gray (Asya Meadows), who has been called a “nightmarish coming-of-age-found-footage horror,” follows her as she continues her investigation into the traumatic events of her early childhood involving her late grandmother, Dorothy Bell , was documented on video. Hargrove will play her father while Wilcox will play a trauma therapist. Hargrove recently played the Candyman, Sherman Fields, in the Jordan Peele-produced film candy man last year starring Wilcox nightmare on elm streets fourth and fifth films. Steven alone (Cathedral), Sargon Odicho, Arlene Arnone and J. Anthony Ramos also star. Production is expected to begin in the Chicago area in early 2023 I dream of a psycho pump Director Villanueva’s independent production company How Bizarre Pictures.
Nippon TV launches “Vocals Like Locals”, “First Kiss Boys” on ATF
Japan’s Nippon TV launches two new formats at the upcoming Asia TV Forum & Market (ATF) in Singapore – unscripted programming Sing like the locals and scripted series First kiss boys and First kiss ladies. Sing like the locals is a reality singing competition in which contestants sing a local hit song from their favorite country and try to sound like a local, even if they don’t even speak the local language. Judge judges will select a winner who will have a chance to meet the singer of their favorite local hit. Aimed at a Gen Z audience First kiss boys is a ten-episode half-hour drama series followed by a dating show mockumentary, First kiss ladieswhich will cut through a crossover storyline with the drama series. First kiss boys follows a student who transfers to a new school shortly after receiving his first kiss from a young girl who he later discovers is starring in a dating reality show.
