Bleecker Street and Showtime have released the trailer for an upcoming documentary titled 2nd possibility. This film tells the life of Richard Davis, the man who invented the modern concealable body armor and body armor. This guy shot himself 196 times in his career to prove his vests are effective!
The film comes from the director Ramin Bahrani (Goodbye Solo, At any cost, 99 Houses, The White Tiger) and this is the synopsis that was shared:
Broke, brave and brash, Richard Davis shot himself 192 times. How come? To test his new invention: the modern bulletproof vest and launch a multimillion-dollar company called Second Chance. He was a hero to the police and military, until tragedy and crime brought him down. His is an American story of guns, violence, lies and self-deception.
Sounds like a pretty crazy and fascinating story and I’m definitely interested in looking at this document and learning more about this story! This guy was an absolute nut!
Bleecker and Showtime will release the film in select US theaters starting December 2, 2022.
