It was recently announced that Star Wars is getting a new deck building game! Star Wars: The Deck Building Game was announced Thursday by Asmodee and Fantasy Flight Games as a new way to take on the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire.
The 2-player board game will feature easy-to-learn gameplay and iconic characters we all love like Luke and Leia Skywalker and Darth Vader. Like other deck builders, each player starts with a 10-card deck that’s mostly resource only so you can build your deck and hopefully ditch those weak cards. The goal is to eliminate your opponent’s foundations. It looks like it could be a lot of fun.
In Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, you and your opponent choose your side, playing as the Empire or the Rebels. As the game progresses, you both strengthen the power of your starting decks and work to destroy each other. The first player to destroy three of the opponent’s bases wins the game.
