Far from creating a story of an archetypal villain, ‘Red’ offers a much deeper look into the intentions of UTA, who becomes one of the most complex characters seen in the saga. What’s fascinating is how the screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa – who makes his debut as a franchise screenwriter – knows how Other moments of reflection on topics such as the intrinsic evil of the human being and on how to try to extinct completely will cause the corrupt of good intentions and remain at the same level as what he tries to eradicate.
