‘One Piece Film Red’: The Voice of Solitiness in a fascinating adventure

Like France or Germany and with the premiere in the United States on November 4, only one day after reaching the Spanish theaters and with signs of equal recent successes such as “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero”, “Jujutsu Kaisen 0″ or ” Guardians of La Night: Infinite Train ‘.

Gone are the years when anime in theaters was a rare bird and, admittedly, The case of the international fury of “One Piece Film Red” is more than justified, since this is the most ambitious film of the franchise and the bold adjective of being his Zenit can be used. Not only does it have the virtue of operation as its own entity for the lay souls, one of the longest -lived, having started its transmissions in 1999, but also has an unusual depth, with an evil protagonist who can remove different levels of reading.

The plot seems to be simple, luffy and the rest of the straw hats go to the mega concert of Uta, a true pop idol, who after becoming a feeling on social networks and on video portals, performs his first live concert, in which he will finally perform in person. However, what looked like an epic recital and a moment to remember will turn into a nightmare when the group discovers that not only Uta is the daughter of the missing scrolls, but also that her voice hides the dark intentions.

The best delivery of the saga. A Russian mountain of emotions

Far from creating a story of an archetypal villain, ‘Red’ offers a much deeper look into the intentions of UTA, who becomes one of the most complex characters seen in the saga. What’s fascinating is how the screenplay by Tsutomu Kuroiwa – who makes his debut as a franchise screenwriter – knows how Other moments of reflection on topics such as the intrinsic evil of the human being and on how to try to extinct completely will cause the corrupt of good intentions and remain at the same level as what he tries to eradicate. Add to this that “Red” deepens the past in common that Uta and Luffy had, completely connecting the story with the anime and also the manga.

With an epic animation, action sequences that are authentic audiovisual acrobatics and, of course, with Luffy and the other converted again in the heroes who save the day. The film directed by Gorô Taniguchi maintains the balance between satisfying the fandom and winning over the audience outside of Oda’s anime. And it does so with an entertainment of different clues made for the delight of the spectators, added with a soundtrack attentive to the maximum, with A touch of pop music reminiscent of what Mamoru Hosoda did with the magnificent “Belle”.

“One Piece Film Red” elevates an established saga like that of “One Piece”, Luffy has never had an adventure as exciting as facing a real pop diva. A demonstration that veterans franchising are able to surprise, as with the latest films “Shin Chan” and “Detective Conan” or the last “Pokémon” trilogy. A visceral and surprising entertainment, a real roller coaster of sensations.
