Zeeshan Khan, director of the Institute of Sleep Medicine, warned that needing to get up at night to use the toilet can signal health problems.
In an interview with HuffPost, Khan said drinking plenty of fluids before sleep is the most common reason for nighttime toilet trips. However, frequent urges to urinate can also indicate urinary tract infections, diabetes, an enlarged prostate, or chronic kidney disease. Khan noted that nighttime urges can stem from the natural aging of the bladder or be triggered by a specific illness.

Tracking symptoms and medical advice
To determine how dangerous the symptom is, the specialist recommended drinking fewer liquids during evening hours and keeping a urination diary for several days. Patients should record the volume of water they drink, how often they go to the toilet, and any accompanying symptoms. If the problem persists, Khan advised consulting a doctor to establish the cause and select the necessary treatment.
In a previous statement, dietitian and endocrinologist Oksana Mikhaleva explained the causes of increased sweating. She noted that excessive sweating most often occurs due to heightened anxiety, a drop in blood sugar levels, infectious diseases, or disruptions in the operation of internal organs.
