Christian Bale is set to star in a new vintage horror movie set on Netflix titled The pale blue eye and today we have some photos to share that give us a first look at the film thanks to Variety.
Bale plays a detective in the story who “investigates a series of murders at a military academy in the 1830s, aided by a young man later known as Edgar Allan Poe”. I love that Poe is a part of this story and will be played by Harry Potter And The Queens Gambit actor Harry Melling, which is a wonderful casting! He is a good actor!
The pale blue eye is directed by Scott Cooper (Ostiles, Outside the Furnace, Antlers) and also has a stellar cast which includes Gillian Anderson, Lucy Boynton, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Toby Jones, Harry Lawtey, Simon McBurney, Timothy Spall, Hadley Robinson, Joey Brooks, Brennan Cook, Gideon Glick, Fred Hechinger, Matt Helm, Steven Maier, Charlie TahanAnd Robert Duvall.
Cooper has wanted to make this film for more than a decade. It is a passion project and is an adaptation of Louis Bayard’s novel of the same name. This will mark the third collaboration between Cooper and Bale, which he also made Out of the furnace And hostile together.
The pale blue eye will arrive in select theaters on December 23, 2022, while the film will begin streaming on Netflix on January 6, 2023.
