Despite being one of the most anticipated villains of the new stages of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Doctor Doom may not be the main villain in the MCU’s new “Fantastic Four” reboot. Instead, Kevin Feige’s company has plans to go further with this character and they want to have him much longer, rather than just a movie.
A new report from Jeff Sneider on his podcast, Hot Mic with John Rocha, talks about it Marvel doesn’t want Doctor Doom to be a villain of ‘Fantastic Four’, so there would be a different enemy than in all previous films from this superhero group of the company. However, it is unknown who would be the new reboot antagonist in UCM.
Secondly, Marvel has plans to introduce Doctor Doom in a post-credits scene of ‘Fantastic Four’, and thus, having this villain for multiple Disney + movies and series. It’s worth mentioning that Victor Von Doom is one of the most relentless and powerful enemies superheroes have faced in comics, so it’s no surprise that the company wants to have him on more than one occasion.
Considering that ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’ and ‘Secret Wars’ will arrive in the future, one of the biggest enemies for Marvel’s future could be Doctor Doom alongside Kangand other multiverse threats, in what could be the biggest event ever seen in superhero movie history. But for this, there are still many years to go before it becomes reality.
Marvel is already looking for the Doctor Doom actor
A few weeks ago, The Direct reported that Adam Driver met with Marvel to play Doctor Doom in the MCU, the same rumor mentioned by Sneider. The actor of Kylo Ren in ‘Star Wars’ would also have been contemplated for the role of Reed Richards, leader of ‘The Fantastic 4’, however the negotiations have not given more news and it is not known if they have reached an agreement .
The truth is that Marvel is already looking for actors to star in the ‘Fantastic 4’ reboot, and the idea that Doctor Doom is no longer the main villain doesn’t seem unreasonable, as he’s been in the superhero group’s previous films. by FOX.
Rumors a few months ago claimed Doctor Doom would be introduced as part of a post-credits scene in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which would coincide with the latest leaks. Even so, the reboot of “The Fantastic 4” is a few years ahead, as it opens on February 14, 2025.
