Ryan Murphy’s new series on Netflix after the success of ‘Dahmer’ failed to hit the unbeatable numbers in the story with Evan Peters, but ‘The Watcher’ remains one of the best real-event-based storylines of the series platform. However, competing is an HBO mystery series starring Stephen King, which many are already comparing.

The story of ‘The observer’ on Netflix is based on real events, with Jennifer Coolidge, Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale are the protagonists and give life to the Brannocks, a family that bought an old house at 657 Westfield. Shortly after living on the property, the couple and their children were harassed by an anonymous author who sent them threatening letters.

Along the same lines, many compare ‘The intruder’, a mysterious series of races ‘The observer’. It is an HBO miniseries that adapts the story written by Stephen King. With only one season, “The Visitor” was a story starring Jason Bateman, which suspense lovers will know from “Ozark” on Netflix, along with Cynthia Erivo, Ben Mendelsohn, Marc Menchaca, among others.

The events of ‘The intruder’ based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, although Richar Price and Jessie Nickson Lopez also participate in the story. Here, Terry Maitland, played by Jason Bateman, is a minor league coach, accused of killing a neighborhood boy, his wife Glory, gets involved in the case, while Ben Mendelsohn plays the detective investigating the case.

Is “The Outsider” better than “The Watcher”?

Technically “The Outsider” is better than “The Watcher” because, based on Rotten Tomatoes ratings, the HBO series has 91% critical and 83% public approval. While Netflix’s production is joined by a total of 52% of the specialized press and 37% of the general public.

However, their formulas are completely different, because while one tries to represent a story of anguish based on real events, the other wants to provoke the fear of something external and mysterious in the case of the protagonists. But yes, they are united by suspense and tension and, in this, both sides conform keeping the viewer in suspense.

If you like a story more attached to reality, where perhaps the characters connect more with you and you can feel empathy for its protagonists, watch “The Watcher” on Netflix. On the other hand, if you’re looking for even a little mystery, but with a little more intrigue and an overwhelming setting, Stephen King’s product, “The Outsider” is your series.
