Guardians created series Damon Lindelof is developing a new one Star Wars film for Lucasfilm and will be directed by Lady Marvel director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. Lindelof is writing the film, but there is no information on who will write it. I can only hope it is Dave Filoni.
The news comes from Deadline who states that “the script is still being written, which means that production is probably far away”. An inside source added that “it was important to Lucasfilm and Lindelof that a director was involved so that that person’s vision of where he sees this story heading was included in the script.”
As for the story that the film will tell, these details are obviously kept under wraps. The film is in early development, which means it will take some time for it to be released. Hell, there’s a chance we might never see it made! Lucasfilm is still trying to figure it out Star Wars film projects!
Over the years there have been several Star Wars films announced, there are more projects in development and some of them are stalled and not moving forward, so who knows what will happen with these Star Wars movie! One day a new one Star Wars the film will actually be made, we’ll just have to wait and see what it turns out to be.
It’s so crazy that Lucasfilm hasn’t figured it out yet. Lindelof is a solid writer, though, so it’ll be interesting to see what comes to mind. What do you think?
