The opinion of specialized critics versus that of the general public many times, if not most, goes in totally different ways. That is why there are drama films that have received a perfect evaluation for the public and are not redeemable for the critics at all. Ultimately though, what matters is how these stories made you feel, and boy, did they.

interstellar

Although this is a science fiction story on the surface, ‘interstellar’ it was a popular movie, so much so that there have been those who have even criticized the Academy for not having taken it into account for the Oscar nominations. The story is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Mattew McConaughey in the role of Joseph Cooper, Jessica Chastain in the role of Murph and the daughter of the protagonist, Anne Hathaway, Timothée Chalamet, Matt Damon, among others. Don’t look up

With a rating of 55% by critics and 78% by the general public, “Don’t Look Up”, the new film by Adam McKay for Netflix was a success among the platform’s subscribers, but not so for the specialists. These are a couple of scientists who discover that the Earth is about to be hit by a meteorite, but no one in the United States takes them seriously. With Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Cate Blanchett, Timothée Chalamet, among others.

The Lion King

Disney has its history with live-action remakes of its animated classics, and while “The Jungle Book” was well received, “The Lion King” was not. And it is that this film was rated at 53% by the specialized press, while the public did not care and just wanted to relive old memories of the relationship between Simba and his father Mufasa, and that is why they gave him 88%.

Diary of a passion

Although over the years it appears to have built a legion of loyal followers, ‘Diary of a passion’ he was hated by the critics, even if loved by the public. The story, starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams, and directed by Nick Cassavetes, earned a 52% critical rating and one of the highest ratings of the general public, with 85% approval. Wes Anderson’s name is one of the most acclaimed directors by specialists, however things don’t seem to have worked in his favor with ‘Aquatic Life’, a film that was loved by the public. 56% was the approval of specialists, while viewers gave 82%. equilibrium

The story of “Equilibrium” is to be told, as it is a story that is born by mixing worlds such as “Fahrenheit 451”, “Brave New World” and even “The Matrix”, along with other classics of the genre. But critics responded with a scant 41% on Rotten Tomatoes, although viewers gave it 81%, but the passage of time has forgotten it. With Christian Bale, Emily Watson, Sean Bean, William Fitchener, among others. Available on Amazon Prime Video.
