Studio Ghibli is a film studio famous for creating some of the most recognized anime in the industry, such as ‘My Neighbor Totoro’, ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ or ‘Spirited Away’. The company has a museum on the outskirts of Tokyo that has welcomed its fans since it opened in 2001, but decided to take it a step further by opening its own theme park. It will do so on November 1st in Nagoya, a city which is about two hours by train from the capital of Japan.

Ghibli Park has five different areas, three of which will open on November 1st. One of them is The Great Ghibli Warehouse, an interior showcase that recreates the studio’s fourteen classic sets, another is El Bosque Dondoko, where you can visit Satsuki and Mei’s house from “My Neighbor Totoro” and the third will be called The Hill of Youth, which will feature Nishi’s antique shop from “Whispers of the Heart” and the office cat from “Haru in Cat Kingdom”.

In the fall of 2023 Mononoke Town, from the anime “Princess Mononoke” will open, and in the spring of 2024 the Valley of the Witches, inspired by “Howl’s Moving Castle” and “The Witch’s Post Office”.
The park isn’t small, but it doesn’t have big attractions or people dressed up as characters taking photos with visitors. It was not born with the intention of being another amusement park with touches of fantasy, but with the idea of really living in the Ghibli world. You will enjoy a park full of elements of his anime which at the same time will give you peace.

True Studio Ghibli fans will experience their park experience in a unique way. They will have to be vigilant so as not to miss any of the many details, from the largest and most colorful to the most discreet and hidden.

could not miss the food
If Studio Ghibli is characterized by anything, it is the care with which they create everything related to the kitchen, almost at the level of the characters. For this, in The Great Ghibli Warehouse you can enjoy some of the most mythical foods of the studio: Kiki’s fish pie, ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’ bacon and eggs, ‘Porco Rosso’ spaghetti Bolognese, ‘Spirited Away’ kiosk and much more.

As if that were not enough, they will also teach the meticulous animation process required to create the food and cooking scenes, along with life-size replicas of some of those scenes. You will surely leave hunger from this delightful visit.
