Joel McHale (Community) will star in a new comedy series at Fox’s workplace titled Animal control. The actor will also executive produce the play.
Animal control was created by Bob Fisher, Rob Greenberg And Dan Sterling, and they practically built it around McHale. They wanted him to recite it from the start.
The series follows “a group of local Animal Control workers whose lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. McHale will play Frank, an eccentric and opinionated Animal Control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most cultured person in the room. Frank, a former cop, tried to expose the corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, which may explain why he’s so cynical and gruff. He has an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. Human … not so much.
Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment at Fox Entertainment, said, “Joel’s wit and ability to bring a comic focus to everything he’s involved in makes him the perfect person to bring Frank to life.”
I like McHale and a lot of the projects he’s been a part of. It will be great to see him lead a real comedy series again!
