Harrison Ford confirmed once again to play General “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel’s THUNDERBOLTS

A few weeks ago we learned that Marvel had chosen Harrison Ford in the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross in Marvel’s Lightningreplacing the delay William wounded. Marvel Studios wanted to make the big announcement at D23 Expo, but the president of Lucasfilm Catherine Kennedy turn it off so as not to distract attention from Indiana Jones 5.

It was initially revealed that Ford’s recast was a “deal made” and Marvel “actually wanted to announce him as a cast member in Lightning to D23. But they didn’t do it because Kathleen Kennedy put her foot down and said, ‘No, we’ll keep the focus on Indiana Jones 5.‘”

Well, for those of you looking for further confirmation of Ford’s casting, / Film can now “independently confirm” that this news “is indeed true. The role of Thaddeus Ross will be recast with – yes, you’re reading that right – Harrison Ford So if that makes you happy!

The rest of Lightning team consists of Sebastian Stan as a Winter Soldier, Julie Louis-Dreyfus as Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as an agent of the United States, Hannah John-Kamen as a ghost, Olga Kurylenko like Taskmaster and of course Florence Pugh like Yelena Belova, and Davide Porto as the Red Guardian.

The film is directed by Jake Schreier, and I’m thrilled to see Harrison Ford in the role of General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross!

Lightning will premiere on July 26, 2023.
