Apple TV + acquired the rights to a movie titled The throat hero Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit, Last night in Soho) And Thousands (Flick, Top Gun: Maverick). Scott Derrickson (Strange Doctor, The Black phone) is on board to direct with Zach Dean writing the script, which he sold to specification to Skydance last year. In addition to acting, Teller will serve as executive producer on the film.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, aside from the fact that it is described as a high-action, genre-bending love story.
Deadline reports that the project gained considerable momentum this summer when Teller started seeing it as his next film following the global success of its summer hotspot. Top Gun: Maverick. Derrickson had previously been assigned, but he was also considering other projects following the success of one of the biggest horror films of the year, The black phone, but once Teller committed to the film, Derrickson was quick to name it his next directing job and the project was accelerated by Skydance.
It looks like a really talented group of people bringing the story to the screen, so I can’t wait to hear more. We will keep you updated as it develops.
