Matt Duffer And Ross Duffer, aka The Duffer Brothers, have posted new inside information on their Twitter account @strangerwriters. The first one we told you about is that Sean Astin’s second season character Bob was nearly killed by Will when he was possessed. We now know that Bob had his hero moment and saved the day before meeting his death from a demodog. I was glad the writers didn’t go the original route, because I think it would have weighed down poor Will even more, and his character has enough to deal with.
The last post from the writers “Crazy Shit That Almost Happened” is that in the second season they would initially have Eleven kill his mother.
Again, this is a pretty dark and heavy thing to put on one of these poor guys who already has a lot to deal with! I understand that writers have to spit out a lot of ideas before they get to the right one, so it’s nice to know that they’ve eliminated the darker stuff and landed on ideas for better stories along the way.
