Director Kenneth Branagh created a supernatural thriller film project at 20th Century Studios titled An obsession in Venice. The film is said to be disturbing and is inspired by Agatha Christie’s novel Halloween party.

Branagh has managed to assemble an incredibly impressive cast that includes himself while reprising the role of Hercule Poirot, Kyle Allen (Rosalina), Camillo Cottin (Call my agent), Jamie Dornan (Belfast), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Judas Hill (Belfast), Ali Khan (6 Underground), Emma Laird (Kingstown Mayor), Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), Riccardo Scamarico (The shadow of Caravaggio), And Michelle Yeoh (All everywhere all at once).

The film is set in the mysterious post-war Venice on the eve of All Saints, An obsession in Venice “It’s a terrifying mystery with the return of celebrated detective Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance in a dilapidated, haunted mansion. When one of the guests is killed, the detective is thrown into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.

Branagh states, “This is a fantastic development of Hercule Poirot’s character, as well as the Agatha Christie franchise. Based on a complex and little-known mystery story set on Halloween in a picturesquely enchanting city, it is a tremendous opportunity for us as directors and we are relishing the opportunity to offer something truly chilling for our loyal cinematic audiences. ”

Branagh will direct the film from a screenplay by Logan writer Michele Verde. The film will be shot at Pinewood Studios outside London and on location in Venice. It will open in cinemas nationwide in 2023.
