Here’s a fun Batman-Horror action movie inspired by the concept of fans from the title 1987: Bat blood. The film was written, directed and produced by James Campbell and features Batman hunting vampires in an abandoned building in the dark.
This is rumored to be an ambitious sequel to Eighties Doubt Productions violent, neon, BATMAN / PUNISHER fan-film 1986.
I really liked this! It’s a shame we’ll never see Warner Bros. or DC Entertainment attempting something like this as a live-action movie. But the production company behind this concept has launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign. It comes with the following note:
We’ve always wanted to come back and make another BATMAN fan movie, but it always depended on the kind of story we want to make … now we have one, and we’re really excited to see it!
“1986” was a neon action short, heavily influenced by John Carpenter and early work by Michael Mann and James Cameron … as well as an evident love for Frank Miller’s THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.
With “1987: BLOOD OF THE BAT” we are walking a darker path with the sole goal of making a horror / action short film that will hopefully blow people away …
